I was recently reading an interesting article, and it made me think about about how much has changed this year. Who could have guessed on New Year’s Eve 2019 that few people would be going to movies or watching a sports event or concert or live theater in person in 2020, and that many of us would spend our leisure time reading articles on the internet or meeting friends on Zoom calls or whatnot?
But that’s the reality.
We know 2020 has been a year like we’ve never experienced before. Many of us know people who have been directly affected by the coronavirus. We will get through this together, and the news of imminent vaccines has us optimistic that a return to normalcy or at least a more typical living and working arrangement is on the horizon.
Just as scientists have spent countless hours working to solve this global problem, we, too, have worked in earnest to help make the world a safer, more sustainable and productive place. We’ve unveiled many exciting innovations in 2020 to help your companies do just that, including Dynamic Risk Pathways for Safety or the recently launched Environmental Accounting software on SpheraCloud, which offers a broad set of data management and calculation functionality to support emissions inventory and corporate and greenhouse gas reporting requirements for Sustainability and Productivity initiatives. These solutions will allow companies to predict and prescribe solutions to help create a safer, more sustainable and productive organization—for themselves and for the world.
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we are truly a global community, and incidents have potential ramifications throughout the planet.
