CHICAGO, IL (July 26, 2017) – Sphera, the largest global provider of Operational Excellence software and information services with a focus on Operational Risk, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and Product Stewardship, has again been ranked by independent analyst firm Verdantix as one of the Leaders in Environmental Health and Safety software.

Since Verdantix first launched the sesquiennial Green Quadrant EHS Software Report in 2012, Sphera has consistently appeared in the Leaders quadrant. In the 2017 report, Verdantix specifically highlights Sphera’s enhanced Momentum in the marketplace.

Verdantix awarded Sphera the highest score in hazardous waste management and identified Sphera as one of the top performers with environmental and sustainability capabilities. Sphera was also listed as the software company with the most clients with more than $10 billion in annual revenue.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with Sphera’s continued upward trajectory as shown in the 2017 Verdantix Green Quadrant report,” said Paul Marushka, Sphera’s president and CEO. “The report demonstrates that Sphera’s recent strategy to invest in people, processes and products is enhancing our ability to serve clients through technology and information services in managing operational, health and safety, environmental and product risks.”

As Verdantix noted: “Sphera is a heavyweight when it comes to EHS software for heavy asset sectors, so its experience alone should earn it a spot on shortlists globally for oil and gas, extractives, and chemicals firms.”

The report also focused on Sphera’s recent acquisition of Rivo Software, which, according to Verdantix, gives Sphera an enhanced cloud-based solution and a more well-rounded safety offering that will “improve mobile applications, implementation options and the overall capabilities of the platform.”

With respect to Sphera’s Product Stewardship offering, Verdantix notes that Sphera’s “internally developed content and enormous regulatory lists allow it to outperform most other vendors in the market.”

“In a short period, Sphera has excelled in crafting a refined market vision and strategy which will enable it to build upon its strengths to continue to serve its core customer base while also expanding into new markets,” said Trevor Bronson, a Verdantix EHS industry analyst and one of the authors of the report. “The company as a whole is well positioned for success in the year to come.”

This report, the fourth in the series, provides a detailed, fact-based comparison of the 20 most prominent EHS software vendors. Based on the proprietary Verdantix Green Quadrant methodology, the analysis is based on 2.5 hour live product demonstrations with pre-set scenarios, vendor responses to a 251-point questionnaire, interviews with 15 independent customers representing 10 industries who have bought, or are planning to buy, EHS software, and a survey of 301 EHS decision-makers.
