The Role of Hydrogen in The Net-Zero Transition

Using renewable energy carrier based fuels will be essential to accomplish the transition to net zero, not only as an organization but as a society. Hydrogen holds the promise to be a cornerstone of this shift to storable, carbon free energy carriers.

Understanding the advantages and also challenges of introducing hydrogen from a sustainability perspective is best done using a life cycle based approach. Using the example of goods transport and its requirement to contribute to stated GHG abatement targets the integrated life cycle based approach developed by Sphera is illustrated.
