Leading ESG firm appoints seasoned legal expert to help drive global strategic growth efforts.
CHICAGO, IL (December 7, 2021) – Sphera®, a leading global provider of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance and risk management software, data and consulting services, has appointed Michelle Belew as general counsel with a focus on Sphera’s legal strategy to support the company’s continued expansion and innovation in the ESG solutions space.
Belew, who will be based in Sphera’s Chicago headquarters, has almost 20 years of law firm and in-house corporate legal experience. In her career, she has managed a broad range of legal matters, supported organic growth both domestically and globally, and drafted and negotiated complex, domestic and cross-border Software as a Service (SaaS) solution licensing agreements. Most recently, she served as associate general counsel at Progress Software Corp., a business application software company with more than $400 million in revenue. She previously held senior leadership roles at InnerWorkings Inc. and Rimini Street Inc. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Delaware.
