Global ESG firm appoints industry veteran Jim Pieper to lead financials through period of rapid growth
CHICAGO, IL (November 2, 2021) – Sphera, a global leader in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance and risk management software, data and consulting services, has appointed Jim Pieper as chief financial officer with a focus on Sphera’s financial strategy, reporting and operations as the company advances its ESG offerings around the world.
Pieper, who will be based in Sphera’s Chicago headquarters, brings over 30 years of experience in financial management. Most recently, he was CFO of TransUnion’s U.S. Markets, an almost $2 billion revenue division of TransUnion (NYSE: TRU), an almost $3 billion revenue publicly-traded information and insights company focused on data and analytics related to consumers in over thirty countries. Previously, he worked in financial leadership roles at CME Group, Divine Interventures and KPMG. He received his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his BS in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University.
