Based in Sphera’s Chicago headquarters, Chris brings more than two decades of experience modernizing enterprise software platforms, embedding AI into products, and leading large-scale technology transformations that deliver scalable, enterprise-ready solutions.

Meet Chris Gutheil
Chris Gutheil is Sphera’s chief technology officer. He brings more than two decades of experience modernizing enterprise software platforms, embedding AI into products, and leading global engineering teams through large-scale technology transformations that deliver reliable, enterprise-ready solutions.
Before joining Sphera, Chris served as chief engineering officer at QAD, where he led global engineering teams supporting enterprise ERP and supply chain software platforms, with a focus on modernization and innovation at scale.
Prior to QAD, Chris held senior engineering leadership roles at Accruent, where he oversaw global engineering and cloud operations. During his tenure, he guided teams through public and private ownership transitions and supported successful M&A diligence and integrations.
Chris’s experience in technology strategy, platform transformation, and AI-enabled innovation will be instrumental as Sphera advances its multi-year product roadmap and continues to deliver reliable, scalable, and forward-looking solutions that help customers strengthen enterprise resilience and unlock new sources of operational value.
Chris holds a BS in Computer Science from Colorado State University. He lives in the Chicago area with his family and enjoys community volunteering, spending time outdoors with his dogs, traveling, and following the Denver Nuggets, Denver Broncos, and Arsenal.
