SpheraCloud Regulated Substance Search (RSS) offers modernized solution for regulatory information as part of Sphera’s ongoing commitment to cloud transformation and customer experience

CHICAGO, IL (June 14, 2022) – Sphera®, a leading global provider of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance and risk management software, data and consulting services, has announced an enhanced regulatory Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that saves time and minimizes risks associated with regulated chemical substances through SpheraCloud.

Sphera’s Regulated Substance Search (RSS) is a comprehensive, online regulatory solution for Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) and Transport information on chemical substances. With an intuitive, easy to use interface and built-in search engine, RSS enables customers to quickly access information for more than 300,000 chemical substances.

Notable features and functionality of RSS include:

  • Enhanced research efficiency: Flexible search capabilities allow quick filtering of hundreds of regulation sets and provide a consolidated view of chemical regulatory data such as classifications, thresholds and restrictions from one source.
  • Access to hundreds of regulatory lists from around the globe: Content is updated by Sphera experts as changes are made by regulatory authorities, and the content is regularly expanded to cover new regulatory lists such as emerging national inventories, country-specific GHS classification, and more.
  • Availability of information beyond regulations: Sphera experts systematically assign specific substances to groups of chemicals (e.g., Cadmium compounds), providing additional insights on chemical compounds.
  • Company-wide access to a single trusted source: Online, SaaS access allows a company’s regulatory affairs, R&D, procurement, industrial hygiene, or product compliance departments to all have access to a common, up-to-date knowledge base.

“Having reliable access to current regulatory data is essential for ensuring companies are compliant in the ever-evolving regulatory landscape,” said Paul Marushka, Sphera’s CEO and president. “This release is part of Sphera’s ongoing commitment to cloud transformation and delivering innovative solutions that help companies minimize risk and keep their operations productive so that they are able to thrive and expand.”

Inconsistencies and gaps in published regulations can add to the effort required to find and analyze the correct information. To eliminate this challenge and increase efficiency, each regulatory list provided in RSS is monitored and updated on a regular basis by a dedicated team to ensure that the most current and accurate information is available.
